My three-month internship at TC Taxation Consulting Co., Ltd. arranged by FocusonChina was fascinating. It not only provided me with valuable hands-on experience but a better idea about what knowledge areas and skills I should attach more importance and make further improvement to my further study. Other things that I have valued most about my internship includes, but not limited to, the nice and supportive working environment and TC employees’ commitment to providing an excellent service to its clients. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn and get better understanding of the culture of the company. I also benefitted from attending the training programs and seminars and have enjoyed the friendship developed here. I appreciate the internship opportunity provided by FocusonChina and would recommend FocusonChina without hesitation.

 Katherine - Accounting Intern

I am a Year 3 student, majoring in Finance and Accounting. My curiosity drove me to join the internship in China. Before my arrival in Beijing, I read many articles about Chinese economies and financial market to prepare myself better immersed into the particular working environment. When I started to work on projects, each day brought different circumstances and I had the opportunity to deliver my own opinions based on my own knowledge. The internship was a worthwhile experience and I feel that it has prepared me well for my professional career. I will take the practical knowledge through the internship in analyzing future opportunities.

Even as an intern, I was given key responsibilities in supporting the overall goals of the department and allowed the freedom to conceive, pursue and launch my own development opportunities. Add to this experience a wide range of talented employees who take a personal investment in my professional development and I get an extraordinarily fulfilling and valuable internship that will pave the way for my future success." In addition, the life in Beijing is unforgettable. Where you go, you always can feel the warmth of the locals. On the first weekend of my internship, I visited the Tiananmen Square by myself and had a happy time. But in the evening, I got lost and couldn’t find the right way to go home. It was a young guy who showed me how to get back home. In short I am happy to have the chance to do internship in China and would like to thank FocusonChina for what it has done for me.

Nicole - Marketing Intern

Internship in China was a remarkable experience. Working at a Chinese Law Firm significantly enhanced my study abroad experience. Many students can say they studied abroad during their college years: I can say I worked in foreign country during my time abroad.

Editing and polishing legal documents and contracts allowed me to gain the  first hand knowledge that is necessary to enter the Chinese market, an extremely important tool to have if one hopes to do business in China. Moreover, the wisdom you will gain from the lawyers who are willing to offer advice, from how to set up a company in China to proper Chinese business etiquette, I will never forget.  As a student who is studying international studies and business, I could not think of a better way to become familiar with the international business world.

Ryan - International Studies and Business Intern

My law internship in China was one of the highlights of my CV. My experience would have been so much different without it. Both my supervisor and co-workers helped me a lot. We became good friends and I felt I really experienced what it was like to live and work in China. I am sad to be leaving. I will miss Shanghai and all my new friends. This has been an amazing experience.

I sincerely enjoyed my time as an intern in Shanghai. It was a rewarding experience being able to travel across the country and participate in meetings with corporate clients and learn their needs and requirements. Our team is nimble and progressive. I got to work on very cool projects, such as assisting in the production of a Shanghai fashion show. This experience has given me exposure to the Chinese business culture, and there's been enormous improvement in my Mandarin skills.
